Tuesday Diversion - Proof that Olive has them.

Usually flat as a board, here's proof that Olive has breasts!! They made guest apperances in only 3 Popeye cartoons that I am aware of - all produced at the Famous Studio.

Mess Production - 1945

Popeye and the Pirates - 1947

Parlez Vous Woo - 1956

IMPORTANT ADDITION:
My friend Thad over at Animation ID blog http://classicanimation.blogspot.com/ (who has a great eye for animator styles) brought this oversight to my attention. Good catch!! Add one more appearance to the list:

The Island Fling - 1946

Any more??

UPDATE:
Blog reader Steve Bierly brought more titles to my attention - seems that Olive let her girls show more often than I thought. Thanks for the additional titles and good eye on you for Popeye's 20th Anniversary!! Olive is only in three scenes and one where you can actually see her body shape. Olive Oyl For President was one of the titles beirly added to the list - sorry I don't have a video copy so no frame grab will be available. Anybody have one that I can post??

Klondike Casanova - 1946

Popeye's 20th Anniversary - 1954

And Steve Bierly came through with the following frame grab. Thanks!!

Olive Oyl for President - 1948 (looks like a Frank Endres scene)

BTW - 2 of the examples (The Island Fling and Klondike Casanova frame grabs) were from scenes animated by my all time favorite Popeye animator John Gentilella. Huge post on him and his complete Famous Studio Popeye filmography later.

I've known some people to fall in love with the Famous Studios Olive Oyl! Hey, great blog you have here. I am wondering whether you will be posting video clips from Popeye cartoons on it; that would be very welcome!!

I can't believe you forgot the bit where she's tied to the log and spinning underwater in "The Island Fling"! That was a Johnny Gent scene too. Hmmph. And I thought you were so hardcore.

Good catch Thad!! - the post has been amended. I guess I'll have to resign from my 'hardcore' status.

I'm one of the ones who fell in love with the Famous Studios Olive Oyl. I have web pages dedicated to her and an Ogling Olive Oyl group at Yahoo.

Olive also "has them" as she shares the soda with Dangerous Dan in "Klondike Casanova," in various scenes from "Olive Oyl For President," in "Popeye's Twentieth Anniversary," and other FS cartoons. In "The Island Fling," along with the scene you posted, she also has them when she's on the sofa with Mr. Crusoe and when she's in the car/boat with Popeye.

I love this blog!!

She had breasts in the Fleischer cartoon Shoein' Hosses too. Just the regular Olive model, only two C's on her chest area. I wonder who was responsible for that.

oh man, i guess i missed the boat on the whole discussion on olive's dirty pillows! i'd noticed them in "shoein' hosses", and somewhat more ambiguously in "blow me down", where all the lasses have 'em! oh well. i can, however, point out one or two scenes where the fleischers olive appears to be going commando - if you're interested in that sorta thing. ...ya filthy pervert!

HERE is a frame grab from "Shoein' Hosses" (1934), as mentioned by bardhol. This might well be the earliest appearance of Olive's chesticles.
